The Slovenia House Proposal
The Slovenia house is a proposal for a New York building designed to act as a point of communication – facilitating a two way flow of political, commercial and cultural ideas between Slovenia and the United States and the world. It is designed to house offices for the Slovenian Consulate and UN Mission, meeting and lecture halls, galleries and a library. The buildings design is based on an abstract synthesis of urban conditions in the city of Ljubljana most notably the Ljublanica river embankments, The three bridges (Tromostovje) and the winding road. (Stari trg) This design was displayed at the Slovenian Consulate in New York and at the Town Hall in the Slovenian capital city of Ljubljana.
