We have received a building permit for this unique residence situated in Altos del Mar, a unique at the edge of the ocean. The house is unusual in that, to meet the planning board approval, we saved and renovated portions of an existing house on Collins Avenue while constructing a modern portion that looks upon the Atlantic Ocean. Interior courtyards separate the two structures.

Construction has commenced on the renovation of this historic house.

It includes a new extension in the rear for a new master bedroom and master bath, an enlarged kitchen, and a new pool and cabana.

We retained the original Cuban tile floors and old wooden railings.

With guidance by owner Tom Bercu, the house was modernized throughout

while respecting the original form and materials.

My design for a residence at 7711 Collins Avenue in the Historic Altos del Mar district of Miami Beach

was approved on Tuesday 10/14. It will be a unique house in that a portion of an existing house built in 1949

will be restored and utilized as guest bedrooms while a new modern portion will be built as the formal entrance

on the illustrious Atlantic Way.

Here is a rendering of my design for a new house east of Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida.

It is located about 100 yards from the beach and entails the design of a new modern house and

the partial renovation of a older house on the same site. A courtyard has been created in between the

two structures and the Landscaping is designed by the award winning landscape architect Orlando Comas.

What a difference new doors, windows, roof tiles and stucco make.

The interior is coming along nicely as well.

The existing wood railing on this historic house must remain as is.
